I wouldn’t suggest this motel for families. We were three people, and since there wasn’t another option, I booked a smoking room with two beds. The card readers took a long time and didn’t work properly in either of the two rooms we tried. The receptionist was very unhelpful and expected me to accept that the card wouldn’t open the door. The shower handle wasn’t fixed, and the bedspreads were in poor condition. Even at a low price, these are basic, inexpensive things they should repair. The location is good and the name honors Texas, so it’s disappointing and frustrating that the motel is in such bad shape. If you can spend a little more, choose another motel.

Please don’t stay here. I was charged $75 for paint on a door that already looked like it hadn’t been painted in a long time. The owner refused to speak with me or refund the charge. They wouldn’t give me my belongings back unless I paid, even though I didn’t do it. I spoke to the cleaning lady, and she said she wasn’t sure whether the door had already been like that. The photos make it look obvious to me that it was already that way. Do you really think I’d have time to do that? Please don’t go there.

There’s no pool or breakfast, and the listing feels misleading. The place has looked like it’s being remodeled for years, but it just seems like a mess. There’s no AC in the lobby, and the advertised truck parking is a dirt lot next door that isn’t their property, so don’t expect it to be safe. Parking and staying here are at your own risk. The location is good, but the business feels stuck and the place is depressing. It feels like Baghdad.

The room was comfortable enough, and I’d consider staying again. Getting to the highway from here is easy. Some bathroom fixtures were broken, including the towel rack and paper dispenser, though the rest was bearable.
