Quality Inn Edison-New Brunswick

The waffles were good, though there was quite a long line to get them at breakfast. The staff were nice, even if they seemed pretty sleepy. I loved my one-night stay, and the breakfast was pretty nice. The only concern was the bed bugs and spider plagues in the area. Still, five stars.

If you just need somewhere to stay, this is a good place overall. Breakfast starts later than at other locations, and I don't know why they put such a large hold on the deposit compared with anywhere else I've stayed. The rooms were clean, though they could use some updating. The hallway carpets looked either filthy or really worn, hard to tell.

We liked the self-serve breakfast buffet, especially the waffles, and the hotel was conveniently located near the beltway around NYC. The room had a mini fridge, microwave, kettle and coffee, TV, Wi-Fi, and AC. It was good for a three-star hotel. The desk chair kept sliding down, so it wasn't comfortable, but otherwise the room was good.

The only real hassle was checking in. A sign said, “Front Desk clerk Will Return shortly,” and we waited at least 10 minutes. I finally called the front desk from the lobby phone, and the clerk came out from the back. The room and bathroom were clean and well maintained, and the hotel was surprisingly nice, with stores and eateries nearby.
