Holiday Inn Express & Suites Edwardsville by IHG

My wife and I spent more than the cost of both rooms getting well again, including two days of missed work, a nebulizer, albuterol, and other medication. After we’d been coughing and dealing with mucus for two days, we went to the doctor and were told we had a severe mold infection. Based on our weekend plans, the doctor concluded the air filter was moldy and we’d breathed it in all night. We got sore throats, completely congested noses and lungs, and felt sick as soon as we woke Saturday. We had to turn on the air unit because the window wouldn’t open. Our two daughters and their two friends were in the connecting room and didn’t feel poorly, but they hadn’t turned on their air unit. I contacted the hotel only to tell them what happened, not to ask for our money back, but I was told I was lying. The corporate office called today and basically said, “oh well, we don’t believe you.” The male front desk worker was also annoying and had a poor attitude. How dare we check in, right? I wish I could rate the room below one star. Stay at one of the other hotels in the area. They don’t seem to care about guests’ wellbeing or hospitality.
