Bay Drive Motel

We walked into a damp, foul-smelling room with water across the bathroom floor, mold on the carpet, and a mattress that was brown. It was filthy, so we turned around and got our money back. The front desk response was just, “Okay, sorry.” We then drove over an hour to Philly for a Holiday Inn because the other Atlantic City hotels were so expensive. People say you get what you pay for, but this was completely unacceptable. I can’t understand how the place is still open.

The owner was unfriendly, and the place wasn’t clean. Even though I had a reservation guaranteed by credit card, they tried to change the price when I arrived. The showers were cramped, and water leaked out while my kids used them. There’s also a 3% fee for paying by credit or debit card. They pushed me to use debit, and got even more annoyed when I said no. Live and learn, I guess.

Please don’t stay here, even if it’s your last option. I found so many bed bugs that I felt sick. When I told them about the room, the man rolled his eyes and asked to see it instead of apologizing. Then they told us to get our things out quickly if we wanted a refund. I left at 2:20 a.m. and took a taxi home to north Jersey. I have pictures and videos that would make you gag. It was bad enough that I would’ve rather slept in my car.

We paid $500 and had to wash our own sheets and towels. There were bedbugs, and the room flooded when it rained. Whenever we went out, the owners looked at us like they didn’t want us there. Their customer service was so bad that we wondered if it was racism. Don’t ever go there.
