Lake Front Hotel

We love this little place. It's right on the lake, and we watched the ducks eating from our room. We enjoy older mid-century motels, and this one has kept its quaint feel while being updated. The view was worth every penny. I live at the Jersey Shore, so overpriced motels aren't new to me, and the price seemed right for the location and time of year. Some people complain about the bathroom and TV size, but the TV is fine, and there's plenty of room for toiletries: the back of the toilet, a shelf over it, a corner shelf, and the whole dresser top. Or just live out of your ditty bag. We were only here for one night, and I'd highly recommend it.

I booked this hotel for a weekend music festival without doing much research, and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean, the grounds beautiful, and the service great. The location is unbeatable, with easy parking, gorgeous lake views, and boat access. There was plenty of outdoor seating to take in the scenery, and I got lucky enough to see peak foliage during my stay. The lake is clean and beautiful, and depending on the time of year, a free boat tour is included. The attached restaurant is an easy walk and offers discounts to hotel guests. I'm very happy with the experience and will be back.

Cooperstown is really busy and loud during tourist season, which isn't for me, though baseball Hall of Fame visitors will have to put up with it. The location is good, right by the lake where a tour boat docks. We rode the boat on our previous visit, and I enjoyed the trip, a beer, and a moment of peace. The boat is different now, and I liked the old one better. We stayed here many years ago, though this week we only ate at the restaurant. If I remember right, my wife didn't care for the rooms. Maybe they've changed since then.

The location is perfect, the view is stunning, and the office staff are super friendly and accommodating. The rooms are cooled only by a mini split AC, though, and it struggled to keep the humidity out. This is the kind of hotel that could be a vacation destination all by itself.
