Oh St Joseph Resort Hotel

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were spacious. It's a great location for the casinos, boardwalk and beach. They also have a huge section of solar panels. The owners are trying to fix the property, and I can see how hard that must be with an old building. It reminds me of The Shinning. Use your imagination with old buildings: this one is home to lots of living things that aren't human, and if you know old buildings and construction, these creatures make themselves known. I don't want to say anything negative, since the owners are doing their best.

The bed was really nice, and the woman at the front desk was kind and helpful. The rest of the place felt janky. The building reeked of cigarette smoke, even though it's supposed to be smoke free. The doors were hard to open, and it took some getting used to the lights. There was a duct-taped hole in the bathroom and a couple of huge bugs. Sticky spots on the counters made it seem like they hadn't been washed properly before we arrived. It worked, but it wouldn't be my preference.

The maid and receptionist were the only good parts, and we didn't even try the free breakfast. The whole place smelled, and there were people actually living there. It looked nothing like the nice pictures on the websites. Never again. Hotwire lied about the listing. I should've known from the price that something was up. My husband and I had to endure the longest three days. There were dead bugs on our room's ceiling, roaches in the bathroom, and the TV didn't work properly. It's a dump, and we'll never stay again.

The room was hot when we got in, and the windows were filthy. The fridge, TV and phone didn't work, and they didn't fix them. There were broken tiles, mold on the walls, carpet stains and cigarette burns on the comforters. The place smelled of smoke as soon as you walked through the main entrance. The person at the front desk was busy most of the time and couldn't help with problems. I bought a 3.5-star hotel stay on Hotwire, and this was the one they assigned. I tried to get a refund and cancel, but they wouldn't do anything. Don't be fooled by the online or Hotwire pictures, the hotel looks nothing like them. Spend your money somewhere else.
