Courtyard by Marriott San Diego El Cajon

I was in town for work and stayed two nights. The staff were attentive and great. The rooms are standard Marriott rooms, so you know what to expect if you’ve stayed at one before. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, along with regular and more unusual shops a short walk or drive away, and it’s easy to get on the interstate. Parking is in a secure lot, though you need to buy a pass for each day. Thanks for accommodating me while I was in town for business.

The non-alcoholic margarita was just how I asked for it, extra tart with extra limes, and the bartender didn’t judge me at all. I also appreciated that a staff member offered to help with my luggage, and the housekeepers have been polite and hardworking. Everyone has been friendly, including the managers. On the phone, they answered all my questions without rushing me, which I appreciated. I’ve only just checked in for my business trip, but I’m already impressed and feel like it’ll be a great experience. I’ve spent one night now and slept really well in the king-size bed. I liked it.

The room was quiet, with barely any sound from the adjoining rooms and none from outside. I was upgraded to a very nice extra-large king room, with plenty of space even for a one-night stay. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious and well appointed. It had two TVs, one by the bed and one by the pull-out couch, plus a microwave, coffee maker, and a time-sensitive fridge. The outdoor area had a pool, jacuzzi, and chairs to sit in, and there was plenty of parking, though it costs $10 a day. Some nearby eateries were closed Monday night. I was there for business for one night in early December. I arrived early, so my room wasn’t ready, and I went to lunch and watched planes take off at the nearby airport. When I came back, check-in was prompt, they thanked me for my status, and I headed to the room. I’ll stay here again and recommend it to friends.

I accidentally booked this hotel instead of the one I meant to choose when I needed a room because of plumbing trouble at home. I’m glad I ended up here. Ryan greeted me with a warm smile as soon as I walked into the lobby. He’s sincere and knowledgeable, and goes out of his way to make people feel heard.
