The food was surprisingly good for a mom-and-pop diner attached to a motel. I got the Michigan’s, with perfectly toasted buns and really tasty meat sauce, plus onion rings that stayed together when you bit into them. My friend’s Greek salad was fresh, a generous serving, and had a good mix of toppings and gluten-free dressing. The family serving us was lovely and cheerful. We did wait 30 minutes, though, and the kitchen seemed unprepared for lunch, with a lot of scrambling in a room with only 24 seats. I doubt that’ll happen every time. Go try it, I’d bet anything on the menu being good.

It’s a cozy, nice-looking place, and our server was very friendly. The menu has some interesting breakfast choices at fair prices, and the omelets were a good size. But both my husband’s and mine were burnt inside where the meat was, and on the outside too. We were the only customers there then, so they weren’t busy. Maybe the grill was too hot, or the cook wasn’t watching closely. I also paid $3 extra for home fries, and the portion was tiny. It’s disappointing because the options are unique, and with better cooking it could be a great place.

The waitress was so friendly and steered us toward an amazing special. The soup of the day had sold out, but her suggestion for another soup was even better than expected. Everything tasted homemade and was seasoned just right, without needing salt or pepper or feeling too spicy or salty. Our food arrived on time. I stopped at the Arsenal for lunch with a coworker during a weeklong work trip, and I’d recommend it to anyone nearby. The service was impeccable, and the food was as good as at any of the five-star restaurants I’ve eaten at in NYC, Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse.

The food is great, and we often come for lunch with other employees. I’ve ordered the michigans several times before and always got red skins, as the menu says. This time I got regular hot dogs, and nobody told me before I ordered. Maybe they’d run out, but I would’ve chosen something else if I’d known. The bathrooms weren’t clean and had no soap or paper towels. I told the waitress. I understand that can happen, but it was exactly the same when we ate there a few weeks earlier. Hopefully they can fix a few things and get back to how good it was years ago.

We had The Arsenal cater an event at my workplace, and Josh was easy to work with. There was a good range of food for everyone, and it all tasted great. I also stopped for lunch and had the Reuben, which was so flavorful. The corned beef was perfectly cooked, and the onions on top were a great touch. I’ve liked this place before, but with the new owners I like it even more. The ingredients are good quality, and I can’t wait to try more of the menu.
