I was told someone would be at the front desk to check me in after midnight, but when I arrived, the door was open and nobody was there. Luckily, I hadn't paid over the phone, but I had to find somewhere else to stay. The lot hadn't been plowed and was covered in ice and snow.
We were traveling from Florida to Yosemite and had reserved a room here. After ten hours on the road that day, we arrived around 10 p.m. on July 31. There were no cars around, and although the lobby door was open, nobody was inside. We called twice and announced ourselves before a man finally came out from the back about 20 minutes later. He took our card and ID and gave us a key to room 138, near the back of the property. It seemed like no one else was staying there. The room smelled like an old bookstore, and the bed was filthy and hadn't been made. We took photos and went back to the office, but the person who had checked us in was gone. We tried to get help and waited another 15 to 20 minutes, then crossed the street to contact Hotels.com. They tried calling the property but got no answer. The next day, Hotels.com told us the place had a no-refund policy, so we couldn't get our money back. Total rip-off.
Quiet place, and the staff were friendly. The TV wouldn't work and the key gave us trouble, but for the price it was worth it.
No toilet paper or hot water, and the place wasn't clean. There were dead bugs too.
We only lasted a minute in the room. The sheets were partly pulled off the bed and the towels were dirty, and it didn't look like anyone had cleaned at all. Nobody was at the front desk when we went back, and our calls got no answer. We ended up having to find another hotel.
