Elkins Economy Inn

The pool was a hit with my kids on our weekend getaway. The Front Desk staff and manager were amazing, helpful, and respectful. The hotel has been beautifully remodeled and is a peaceful, quiet place to relax. It’s definitely my kind of place to stay in the Elkins area, and I recommend it.

The check-in desk person was pleasant, but that was the only good part. The room smelled strongly of weed and skunk, and I saw a cockroach run across the bedside table. When I moved the table to look for it, the area behind it was unfinished and filthy. The chair was covered in stains, so I didn't even want to set my suitcase there, never mind sit down. The bathroom was moldy, the door scuffed, and the walls dirty. They advertise this place as remodeled, but the updates seemed as cheap as possible. It was expensive for no reason and absolutely not worth the price.

The modern renovation and how clean the room was made a great impression during my Class reunion weekend. The front desk staff were very polite, too. We thought Luxor was good for the price and would recommend it. We'll be back.

The bedsheets were stained, dirty and gross, and our keys stopped working every time we went out. The bigger problem came when we had to leave early on Saturday morning because of a family emergency. We'd booked Feb 12-15th and paid 233.27 at the front desk, but they kept the unused night's money and charged us another 80.97. Back home, I called to ask about the extra charge. The receptionist said we'd only paid 157.24 when we checked in, which wasn't true. We have receipts and bank statements showing what we paid. This hotel lied and overcharged us. I wouldn't recommend it, and I'll never stay here again. If you're smart, neither will you.
