Breakfast was a mess: only four tables, all covered with crumbs and syrup; the OJ and Apple juice pitchers were empty; there was no yogurt; and a crock pot with what looked like sausage gravy sat beside a dirty spoon with no attendant around. Our room wasn't much better. I had to wipe down the furniture, bathroom and fixtures, and there were no toiletries, despite what was stated. The clerk told me the lower-level king rooms had already been booked before we arrived, even though I'd requested a lower-floor room or one by an elevator when booking. I learned they don't have elevators. Even with the third-party discount, this wasn't worth what I paid. A local ABNB was a similar price and much cleaner. Would not recommend.

Last night was so bad that we cut our trip short by a day and went home. The noise went on from 2-3am until 8am, and someone jiggled my doorknob around 3am. We might have left then, but after what happened earlier, we didn't even want to go outside. While bringing our bags in from the car, we saw police searching the parking lot and questioning people by the shelter area. More officers arrived soon after. People hanging around the lot and some in the halls made us feel very uncomfortable. Our room wasn't clean either. There were two dirty towels on my towel rack, hair in the shower and all over the floor, and the toilet was quite dirty. I wish I'd taken photos. My husband and I have stayed here several times while traveling from Northern WV 2-3 times a year, and our past visits were pleasant. When we came last Fall, it seemed a bit less clean, but I assumed they might be short staffed or someone was having a bad day. This time was much worse. The place has really gone downhill. Dirty rooms, sketchy people and noise all night mean this family won't be back. I hope they improve for future guests, but count us out.

The room was huge and the bed was comfortable. The hotel was very clean, and the people at the front desk were extremely nice. There's no elevator to the 2nd floor, but the desk staff offered to carry my things upstairs if I needed help.

I found a live bed bug under my pillow on our second night and took it in a bag to the front desk. I tried at least ten times over a 7 day period to speak with a manager, but he or she was always honest. I only wanted a refund for that one night. There was also a box of used fake nails under the skirt of the bed. When we got home, we left everything we had brought, including the clothes we'd worn home, out in the cold for 8 days. I'm usually not one to write reviews, but here I am. Stay far away from this place. My large family has seen the bed bug, and they'll be writing reviews too.

The staff were super friendly, and this was the cleanest, best-smelling Super 8 I've stayed in. I highly recommend it.
