Wingate by Wyndham Elkins

We were four people on a 3 day motorcycle ride, and the hotel had towels available for cleaning our bikes, a nice touch. After dinner we gathered in the lobby for a glass of wine, and the person on duty brought us Wine Glasses. Another nice touch. I'd stayed here several years ago and thought it was a good choice then. It's a Wyndham hotel now, and just as good as before, with clean rooms, a good breakfast and GREAT staff when you need anything. I'll stay again when I'm in the area, and this makes me consider future stays at a Wyndham facility.

They have a lot of thoughtful extras, like a box of clean rags to wipe down bikes or motorcycles. We used them for the cooler in the bed of our truck, which got filthy from the dusty back road. They also had cookies at the front desk one night, and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfasts were really good, with oatmeal, scrambled eggs, waffles, fresh fruit and more, and it wasn't just continental. Tea and coffee are available 24 hours. The staff were all 100% really nice and very helpful with our trip and local info. Our room was clean and had hand-held showers. The built-in handrail was outside the shower, which doesn't work for older people, so we bought a suction-cup handrail for use inside it. Still, I highly recommend this place. I can't say enough good things about our stay. Simply wonderful!

We return whenever we're in Elkins, after first choosing this hotel for its proximity to the event center where we attended a show. On this trip, Eddie, a young man in his first week on the job, checked us in and made a great first impression. He even troubleshot a problem with my room key. The lobby is spacious, with lovely furnishings and a fireplace surrounded by a couch and very comfortable chairs. Our room was large, the beds comfortable and the towels fluffy. The hotel was spotless, with someone always cleaning, vacuuming and dusting. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate are available 24 hours a day. Breakfast alone might persuade you to stay. There were waffles, eggs and bacon or sausage, yogurt, fresh fruit, pastries, bagels, English muffins and toast, plus cereals, juices and coffee. I highly recommend Wingate by Wyndham in Elkins West Virginia.

We only stayed one night on the way home from New River Gorge WV, but the hotel was so nice I wished we could stay longer. Everything was clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and breakfast was one of the best of our trip. We'd definitely stay again if we're back in the area.
