They have a rule against street parking and even letting a wheel touch the grass, but the houses have no garages and nowhere safe to park without risking a tow. With houses larger than five bedrooms and such small driveways, you’re set up for trouble. Sometimes they tow cars just five minutes after they’re parked, before you’ve even had time to unload groceries. In a closed community that isn’t open to the public, having tow trucks patrol for people’s cars makes no sense. It feels like they’re doing it to make money at the expense of your vacation. The tow company is 30 minutes away, so if your car is taken, you’ll lose a day getting it back. I can’t imagine how they don’t see that this enforcement ruins people’s vacation and rest. Don’t rent a vacation home here. Trust the reviews, hundreds of people are saying the same thing. There’s a towing racket, and they may take your car on Friday night so you can’t get it back until Monday, running up the fees you have to pay. If it’s a rental car, you’re in trouble. Because of Florida legislation, only the owner can retrieve it with notarized authorization. The company takes 3-5 business days to prepare that document, and you pay all the costs. If you have more than three cars, you’re doomed, you’ll get towed with no escape. Fees can reach $500 for a large vehicle like a Suburban, Wagoneer, or Expedition.
