Days Inn Elko

I’ve stayed here three times now, including on my way to and from Reno, and the place has been consistently clean. It’s an older hotel, but the rooms have been updated, and both rooms I used had clean bathrooms and no issues. The staff are friendly too. On my first visit, I left my iced-tea-filled Tupperware container in the fridge by accident, along with two bottles of orange juice and a Dr. Pepper. I realized about 20 miles from Battle Mountain, Nevada, and called the hotel. The wife, who runs the place with her husband, took down my room and container details and agreed to hold it until I came back three days later. When I returned, her husband went to get her, and she brought everything out. I was so happy to have it back that I offered them money, but he said staying there when I came through town was enough. I thanked them both and promised a good review. I also left $5 on the TV/dresser stand when I checked out. I’d stay here again if I need a room in Elko.

The front desk was polite and helpful, and our room was clean with a comfortable bed. We were there Saturday night before Easter, had an excellent stay, and would come back.

The nearby restaurant was easy to get to and the food was decent, which was a plus. Our room seemed clean otherwise, but it had a bad smell, like someone had used the toilet and not flushed. The TV didn’t work, and the clock radio only sort of worked. The bathroom was uncomfortably tiny. I haven’t tried the other nearby hotels in this price range, but they’re probably better.

The road outside was busy and noisy, the door locks were awful to open, the shower head wasn’t great, and the TV didn’t work. Still, the room was clean and the bed was nice. Parking and the “breakfast” were free, there’s a park across the way, restaurants nearby, and the highway isn’t far. Management was friendly. Not bad.
