The owner was very nice and easy to talk to. We held a small private ceremony here and stayed the night. The grounds were nice and quiet, breakfast was delicious, and the hot tub felt great after a cold evening out. For the price, spending a romantic evening in a historic building built in 1780 was well worth it. We’ll stay again.

We’ve visited several historic areas, and I love the history of The Wayside Inn. Joe was very nice, and we enjoyed the fireplace and jetted tub. Breakfast was good, though the coffee cream curdled in my cup. Most B&Bs offer take-away snacks or fresh baked goods, but that wasn’t the case here. Bring cash and a lighter, since fire logs cost an extra $12.00 and no lighter was provided. The house needs major TLC. The grounds looked beautiful online but not in person, and the upper deck was bare, with no seating or atmosphere. The decor throughout was disappointing and random, with beach signs, anime figurines, a Santa doll, and little that felt historic. Our bed and pillows were terrible, and there were lots of cobwebs. You can tell the owner wants guests to have a great experience, but too many things that could have been prevented were lacking. We probably won’t return, though I hope the place thrives. It has so much potential.

Such a beautiful bed and breakfast. The owner was kind, informative, and made sure breakfast worked for my husband's gluten allergy.

My first time staying at a B&B was a very pleasant one. It felt like home, and they served an excellent breakfast of my choice. I plan to do it again.

Our hosts were incredibly kind and accommodating. They even let us check in early because our flight landed before the official check-in time. I have no complaints about the hospitality or customer service, and the property itself is beautiful and great for pictures. I booked the Margot suite for a couples’ night while we were attending a wedding up the street, and the glowing B&B reviews had set my expectations high. The cleanliness was disappointing. The shower curtain had red soap scum all along the bottom, the shower smelled unpleasant, and the cloth headboard was extremely dirty behind the pillows. After a night of celebrating, I didn’t feel well enough to sit downstairs for breakfast. I hadn’t realized we couldn’t take food upstairs, even though I wanted to eat there while feeling unwell. I appreciated the nice breakfast, but having to eat downstairs was a bummer. I chose to lie down and only managed a couple of bites, so I didn’t get to enjoy or finish my meal. I’d recommend the place for its hospitality and homey feel, but personally I didn’t love it as much as I’d hoped.
