The front desk staff were amazing, but there’s no one there to check you in or hand over keys if you arrive after about 10:30 or 11:00pm. We came in winter and wanted to swim. Make sure you clarify that you want a room in the main hotel, not the annex. We hadn’t expected to walk across from the annex to the main building, then cross the lot back to our room soaking wet. It was pretty darn cold.

We spent a couple of days here while exploring the Bar Harbor/Acadia area. At first I wasn’t impressed by the sliding-door lock, just a wooden slat on the bottom track. But the rest of the stay won me over. Nearby places were very expensive, so I felt we got good value here. Breakfast was basic but adequate, the location was handy for the things we needed, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I was glad we didn’t pay the high prices at hotels in Bar Harbor.

The breakfast was a nice surprise, with lots of choices, and we made good use of the laundry room so we could take clean clothes home. Our room was comfortable and very clean. The gentleman at the front desk was especially friendly and helpful. We had a great stay on our Acadia trip and will definitely come back.

The location worked really well, with supermarkets, a local market, and plenty of good restaurants nearby. Acadia National Park/Bar Harbor is about a 30+ minute drive away. Thanks, Colonial Inn, for a pleasant stay. Our room was roomy, comfortable, and very clean, and staff were friendly. It was cleaned every day.

We could back the car right up to our room, which was handy for bringing our bike inside overnight. The refrigerator and freezer were very large, and the bed was just right for my sore back. The room worked perfectly well, though it looked a bit worn. We arrived late and the desk person was friendly and accommodating. Continental breakfast was fine. We were well placed to reach Bar Harbor and Acadia NP early the next morning, about 25-30 minutes away.
