Sheraton Tarrytown Hotel

The poor soundproofing was impossible to ignore. We heard radios blasting and people singing all night and while getting ready in the morning. The club level and club lounge were just like the rest of the place: empty refrigerators, no snacks, and anything that had been there was picked clean and never restocked. Several parts of the hotel REEKED of marijuana, both from people smoking it and from the putrid smell on people saturated with it. The lobby was full of groups wandering around in all kinds of dress and undress, from pillows and pajamas to sweatpants. This Sheraton feels like a clear example of the brand's decline in the US. Sheraton might still be nice and well run in Europe, but its steady slide here is nowhere more apparent than at the Tarrytown Sheraton. As a titanium SPG member, that was all the more disheartening. The place felt absolutely depressing and hopeless. We didn't even bother complaining. Staff seemed no more engaged than the average guest. Not an impressive location.

I've stayed here many times. I loved it at first, but over the years it got worse and now needs a major upgrade. Security was my biggest concern. One night, someone opened my room door without knocking while I was changing. I hadn't secured the latch, and they closed the door when they saw me inside. There was no acknowledgment afterward. I gave the hotel another chance and they gave me a free room. When I entered it, there were workers inside, though they had no record of anyone supposedly working in the room. As a woman staying alone, I felt nervous and uncomfortable. They weren't apologetic at all.

The rooms were luxurious and clean, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The hotel and its staff were absolutely wonderful. I was busy with my visit and almost wish I'd had more time to enjoy the place. On checkout day, the fire alarm went off and the fire department arrived. By the time I'd gathered my wits, the alarm had stopped. Aside from that, it was a fantastic hotel in a great location. I'll stay again!

We were here this weekend for my niece's wedding at the Tappan Mansion, and the staff at this Sheraton were amazing. From front desk manager Jessica and her accommodating crew, Vernon and Kamita, to manager Keith, everyone was helpful and engaging. They treated us like family, and even though one elevator wasn't working, the staff made up for that small inconvenience. The rooms were clean and all the areas comfortable. I loved the stay and would definitely recommend the Sheraton Tarrytown Hotel!
