The Mark was a terrific place to eat on a cold, rainy night, and the hotel itself is a gift. Our King deluxe room was lovely and oversized, even bigger than our daughter’s Buckead apartment. Thoughtful details are everywhere, including art throughout the hotel made by amazing Elon graduates. It’s an inn with a clear purpose and a real focus on the guest experience, with excellent customer service. Simply wonderful. I almost hesitate to recommend it because I’d hate to find no room available next time.

I’ve stayed in hotels all around the USA, and this one is right at the top. My King Deluxe was perfect, gorgeous and beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean, which matters since I’m very picky. Everyone I met was kind and smiling, and breakfast was delicious. I’m sitting in the garden now in a comfortable chair, feeling peaceful during a really difficult time in my life. Thank you, Inn at Elon. I’ll definitely be back.

The place looks pretty, but the meal was a joke for something trying to be fine dining. The risotto was crunchy, with hardly any squash or flavor, and the plating was horrific. The Sea Bass tasted old and frozen. And the Lamb, please. Invite me and I’ll show you how to execute a dish. The servers and bartenders need training, and all we got, even at the bar, was an annoyed attitude. So disappointing.

We had dinner outside and the ambience was lovely, but the service left a lot to be desired. The hostess tried to seat us at a table that wasn’t set up despite our reservation, and the waitress brought the check before clearing our table. The staff need training, and I didn’t feel I got the equal treatment I expect when paying a premium price. The food was disappointing too: no protein option for vegetarians and low quality meats on the charcuterie board. The Campus location can’t be beat, but I didn’t stay because dynamic pricing meant over $600 for move in weekend, which didn’t feel worth what the Inn offers.

I’m still of two minds about the stay. The bar and housekeeping staff were great, the beds were comfy, and the bathrooms were lovely. But the food was expensive, with very small portions, even though it was very good. The shower pressure was painful, while the sink had no pressure at all, and the bed was short-sheeted. The front desk was awful. Basic hospitality training is needed: greet guests with a smile, explain where to park or find the elevator, and don’t leave them waiting for you to come out. I felt like they couldn’t care less and that I didn’t matter. This would be great for $200, but not for $500.
