Bristlecone Motel

We stayed for three weeks for work, and not once did anyone come clean the room. We had to ask to borrow a vacuum and get fresh bedding so we could do it ourselves. We also had to empty our own trash and carry it downstairs. The keys kept locking us out, so we went down many times to get new ones. The manager was friendly, but the young women in the office were extremely rude.

The hotel is a bit dated, but I was comfortable and it worked fine for what I needed. Aylee and Erica were both really friendly and helpful. I’d definitely stay again when I’m in town.

The so-called breakfast was a letdown. The coffee was bad, there was cereal but no milk because “My husband forgot to buy a milk,” and they had packaged muffins and cereal bars. Morning service was poor and unfriendly, and guests hardly seemed to get any attention. It didn’t feel patriotic or representative of America, and there was none of the typically American service culture I expected. The room was clean and freshly prepared, aside from an old sock left by previous guests. It was otherwise acceptable, though there were only two towels for four people, which didn’t seem very professional. The night was noisy because of the busy street beside the motel, and the large trash bin by our window smelled awful all night. Finding the place was easy, and there was a parking spot right in front. The evening greeting was somewhat friendly.

HORRIBLE, OVERRATED AND OVERPRICED at $125. A dump. No toilet paper or tissues, and the lobby closes early, leaving no staff to help. The in-room wall phone didn’t work, and there was no manager on duty. The outdoor entry area is ugly, just rocks and desert with no grass, despite the photo, which is fake. Security and traffic noise are issues. Several switches didn’t work or had no bulbs. Most items were missing or unavailable for the cheap, lousy continental breakfast. STAY AWAY.
