Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Elyria

Family had decorated the small room nicely for our wedding night, but the carpet looked dirty and the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The AC kept shutting off no matter what temperature it was set to. People in the halls were loud very early in the morning, and the pool was disgusting.

The pool was small but clean, warm, and clear, enough room for 12 kids, who were having a blast. The workout room was small too, but all the machines seemed to work. Housekeeping was kind and friendly, and the restaurant was clean with friendly staff, good reasonably priced food, and fast, efficient service. The free breakfast had a nice selection. My room hair dryer didn't work, but that was such a small thing it didn't bother me. I heard people in the hallway going to their rooms on the second night, but it was no different from hearing apartment neighbors. Checkout was great, with a very polite front desk. I checked in Friday evening and was pleased right away. The front desk staff were friendly, the lobby was clean, and I was surprised by the large, very clean room. It had a king bed, couch, large desk, fridge, microwave, lots of space and good lighting. The bathroom was clean, with good shower pressure. My weekend getaway was just as good the second night as the first. I think this is a fine hotel for the area. The hotel is Days Inn in Elyria.

We were exhausted from driving, so we stayed, but it was absolutely the worst place I've ever been. The pool was out of order, the TV didn't work, and the elevator was stuck. We had to take the stairs, which didn't lead into the hotel, so I had to go outside and back in through the lobby. They offered to move us, but the next room smelled so bad we couldn't handle it. In the morning there was no hot water for a shower. Questionable-looking people were hanging around the parking lot. I asked to see the manager and waited about 15 minutes the next morning, but he never appeared. The desk girl offered half off the room, and even that wasn't worth it. Very displeased.

The staff were all very kind, which was the only good thing about the hotel. We booked last minute after looking at the online photos and thinking it would be decent, but they must be years old. There's no outdoor pool, and everything is extremely dated and disgusting. The indoor pool had just four chairs, and the stack of towels looked like it had been sitting there for days. You couldn't see the bottom of the pool. The hallways were gross, and breakfast was limited to a couple of yogurts, cold eggs, bread, juice, and waffles. The sheets were clean and the beds were okay, but the place needs a lot of TLC. It felt like staying after a zombie apocalypse.
