There was a huge brown stain on my sheets when I arrived. I called to have them changed right away, but it made me wonder how carefully anything was cleaned. I got to Memphis around 8 a.m. on the only flight available, and when I called earlier to ask about an early check-in, they said it was fine. Once there, I could see why. The hotel seemed to draw two kinds of guests: construction workers, who were cool and great, and people of ill repute and their salesmen. I saw one woman at the front desk with no pants on, her shirt barely covering her rear, so it’s not the best area. There were no phones, fridges, or microwaves in the rooms, and people said some rooms had no iron. There were no vending machines either, so you have to go across the street to the gas station. For $39.99 a night, it was about what I expected. At $60, I expected better.

Not worth a penny. We got there around 10 p.m. after a disappointing day of driving, and I would’ve left if it hadn’t been so late. The staff were rude and the rooms filthy, with blood on the sheets and dark hairs on the bed. We brought in our own blankets. There was a splattered bug on one wall, and the furniture was run down. Worst motel I’ve stayed at. Don’t stay here.

The room was horrifying when we first got there. Roaches were on the wall, the sheets were yellow and wet, dead bugs were on the bed, and the carpet was filthy. They moved us after we complained, but then said they had no key for the new room. We were told someone would let us in whenever we needed, no matter the time. One night I came back and the Indian man at the desk didn’t want to let me in. He told me to knock, but my friends were asleep, and when I said I’d called and they hadn’t answered, he stared at me. I waited about five minutes, then asked if he was going to let me in. He said he couldn’t. I reminded him they were the ones who hadn’t given me a key and had told me to come ask, and finally he agreed. He was rude, acted like he didn’t want to talk, and ignored me. One staff member was nice, at least. The place is also known as a prostitution hotel.

The staff were fantastic, and I got a free hot continental breakfast. The motel has a mini refrigerator, a jacuzzi, and flat-screen TVs. Great hotel. I highly recommend it and give it five stars.

This was awful, even though I didn’t pay for the room. The first room was nice, but I saw a roach crawling on the nightstand. In the next room, the door was busted and broken, the furniture was damaged, there were no towels, and the TV was tiny. No, just go to CORDOVA!
