Hyatt Place Emeryville/San Fran

I needed to be near the Amtrak station, and this hotel has an elevated walkway through the parking lot that takes you straight there. The place was incredibly clean, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. There's also a handy little concession area and a delicious breakfast buffet. Highly recommend.

This place has gone downhill since I stayed three years ago. The staff are awful, especially Ana Clark. She was rude, sloppily dressed, and wandered around the hotel like a depressed sloth. Angel and Jose were sweet, and they're the only reason I'd give the service two stars. There are plenty of other hotels in the area, so stay somewhere else. I'm out until next time.

The biggest downside is that the bar only opens Monday through Wednesday nights. For a quieter room, ask for one on the side away from the tracks. The hotel is convenient if you're taking Amtrak from Emeryville, about a five-minute walk over the bridge above the tracks or a five-to-seven-minute drive. The rooms work well for longer stays, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the buffet breakfast is included.

Not too bad, but we didn't like the breakfast. There was no bacon or yogurt, and the food choices were very limited. There was no coffee or water in the lobby, ice was only on floors 5 and 9, and parking was hard to find in the evenings. It's okay, but I wouldn't book here again.
