The breakfast alone was worth the stay, easily the best I’ve had at a BNB, and I’ve been to plenty. Jim and Matt were such great hosts, and I wish I’d tried dinner too. We spent two nights at the Hygrade Inn and loved the lovely decor, which feels welcoming rather than stuffy. It’s also easy to walk into town. Honestly, I’d have paid twice as much to stay there.

That bread baking day smell is incredible, you feel like you’re in heaven. I’ve stayed here a few times now and keep coming back. The rooms are private, spotless, and so nicely furnished, and the welcome is warm every time.

The Shippen Room had a fantastic bed and a very modern bathroom with a luxurious shower. Everything in and around the nicely renovated house was immaculate, and the food was really good too. Matt and Jim are warm, genuine hosts who stay organized and attentive. Street parking was simple, with just a few town rules to keep in mind. We were there for the first time last week and found a real gem in this small Pennsylvania town. I’d recommend booking the optional dinner, definitely don’t miss it. Thanks, Jim and Matt, you did a great job!

The best part for us was how peaceful it all was. No busy buffet or loud restaurant, just quiet and personal service. We also loved the comfortable room and the decor throughout, plus those breakfasts and dinners, especially the homemade bread and noodles. Emporium, PA doesn’t have a lot going for it these days, but The Hygrade Inn is a real diamond in the rough. If you’re coming to Cameron County for hiking, biking the West Creek Trail, or seeing wildlife, you’ll be glad you stayed here.

Coffee or a drink on the porch was such a relaxing way to spend some time. The whole inn is beautiful, and my room was spotless and really comfortable. The owner was so welcoming and made a delicious breakfast each morning. I was there last weekend and only wish I’d had time to try dinner. I’ll be back next time I’m in town visiting family. Thank you!
