Comfort Inn Encinitas Near Legoland

The east side of the building worked well for me. It gets protection from the hot sun, and I couldn’t hear the freeway there. It’s quiet and restful, even for people who sleep during the day. The elevator and carts made it much easier to move my things. My room had carpet in the bed area, a couch by the ice-cold AC, and equipment and a TV that all worked. The interior had been upgraded to keep up with nearby places. They clean the rooms daily and keep the grounds tidy and well maintained. The staff are helpful and friendly. Most of all, staying here saves me $600 a week compared with other hotels. I’m a retired traveler on a fixed pension, so every dime counts, and I’m very grateful. I double-checked the savings, and they’re remarkable. I love this hotel and appreciate the room very much. God bless you all, thank you so much! 😃☺️🥰

For two nights through a booking site, I paid $193, and I thought this place was a great value. It felt safe for me as a woman traveling alone. The hotel is close to the freeway, so ask for a room on the opposite side. I couldn’t hear the freeway from my room. It was clean and remodeled, with a comfortable bed, so don’t hesitate to stay. One side note: smoking outside in Encinitas is now illegal except in your car. The parking lot doesn’t get much traffic, and smokers were considerate, staying at the back and using the trash can instead of littering.

We planned to stay two nights but left after one. The couches and chairs were stained, and the front desk staff were unfriendly. Most upsetting, our entire suitcase disappeared, with our clothes, passports, and sentimental things collected during a month of travel inside. When we reported it, staff showed no concern, didn’t ask what the bag looked like, and offered no help. Other guests were more supportive and were shocked by the dismissive response. We were in an area with little foot traffic, which made the theft and lack of assistance feel even more suspicious. We were told there were no security cameras, which seemed highly unusual for a hotel. Staff also didn’t help us contact local police for insurance, so we had to handle everything ourselves. Breakfast ended at 9:30AM???!!! We missed it while dealing with the theft, and even though our two young children were hungry, staff still wouldn’t offer us anything. The lack of care was staggering. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had. I’d never stay again and strongly urge people to avoid it. Edit / Update: We later learned the man at the front desk was actually the owner, Naman Patel, not “Sam,” as he’d first said. We also confirmed the property does have security cameras by checking photos we’d taken. After we pointed that out, Naman stopped answering our emails. It makes us wonder who really took the suitcase. DO NOT STAY HERE, IT IS NOT SAFE!!

For an economy hotel, they’ve got the basics down: thick towels, a hot breakfast, and recently remodeled rooms. Group rates and late cancelation are available too. What’s not to like?
