Englewood Bay Motel

I wanted to book a room for the weekend, but Google Maps has the wrong phone number for you and there's no website listed. I tried to get in touch and didn't know how else to reach you. Let me know when you've fixed it, and I'll remove this review.

This is my third winter spending part of the season at the Englewood Bay Motel and Apartments. It's a cheerful place inside and out, an old Florida motel with a funky feel that's been recently renovated. Everything is new and clean, from the well-stocked kitchen to the easy-opening windows and comfortable new furniture. The owner and Office Manager are friendly and helpful, and a quick call or email gets a prompt response. It's convenient to beautiful Manasota Key and Englewood Beach. Highly recommended.

It can be hard to find a rental for less than three months, and this is one of the few places that allows a shorter stay. Along with the convenient location and price, that's why I highly recommend Englewood Bay. My wife and I stayed there in February 2016, after the new owners had just reopened following some planned renovations. The owner, Nina, and her manager were great and quickly handled a couple of minor issues. We were very happy with our two-bedroom unit, which had fresh paint and mostly new furniture. Work was still underway on some units and the courtyard while we were there. The parking lot was resurfaced, the lawn was newly sodded, and two pergolas were built. The painters, plumbers, and carpenters were professional and courteous.

The views and sunsets were excellent, and we saw a manatee, sea turtle, and dolphin from our balcony. There were plenty of shark teeth on the beach, and the managers were pleasant. The property is a bit run down, though the rooms are very nice. There's no beach on the property, just rocks. You have to go next door to a tiny beach about the size of six parking spaces, or walk about two blocks along the shore to reach a wider beach.
