Grove City Motel

My wife and I had a good stay at Grove City Motel in Placida, FL. The room was large, clean, and laid out well. The AC worked very well, and we liked the pool. The rooms could use some updating, and a TV in the bedroom would be nice, though you probably won't spend much time inside if you're heading to the beach or out on the boat. We got there after the office had closed, but the very accommodating, friendly staff went out of their way to make sure we could get in without hassle. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try.

It's an older place, but the room was comfortable and clean, with no bug issues for us. We came with our daughter because it's close to the beaches. The little hotel is cute, and the rooms have full kitchens and pull-out sofas. She loved the pool area, and we spotted some big iguanas outside. I'd book again.

We bring our yorkiepoo, "Snicker," when we travel, and finding a quiet place that accepts dogs can be tough. This motel is old and nothing fancy, but it was clean and low-key. It worked well for what we needed.

The location suited us, and for the price it was decent for a weekend. The room had a full-size fridge, kitchen, microwave, utensils, and a decent amount of space. The man working called at least four times in under 48 hours: twice to confirm, once to see how things were going, and once more that I didn't return. That felt like too much. The motel seems to have been a lovely place once, but now it's run down. The overgrown grass and appearance were an eyesore; the room paint peeled, the shower pressure was very low, and the bedroom floor was sticky. The kitchen table was streaky, and the AC kept cycling on and off. There were books scattered around, including one by the bed. It's a nice gesture to offer reading, but having books beside the bed made us feel like we were in someone else's room or it hadn't been cleaned thoroughly. We'll probably look elsewhere next time.
