The employees were genuinely friendly, especially the man who came to sort out my TV. I had to go down to the lobby to ask, though, because the room phone had another hotel chain's label and wasn't connected to the wall or itself. As for the room, the couch looked like it could have come from under an overpass, and the basement-style toilet made me think of reaching into the tank to flush it. After that, I turned on the very dirty air conditioner to try to clear the overwhelming cigarette smell. I was there about eight hours and felt like I'd smoked two cartons of Marlboro Red 100s. There was a cleaning cart in the hallway when I checked out, though I couldn't tell if it was just decoration. Breakfast offered eight slices of bread, which looked appetizing enough, but I went with a cup of very watered-down apple juice. If you've ever wanted to feel like you're sleeping in a crack den in Cleveland, Ohio, and have an extra hundred bucks, the Econolodge off Perry highway might do it. I guess I got a story and some photos for my money.
We were given a room that already had someone in it when we arrived. The housekeeper helped us get into another room and was very nice, but the place was in rough shape: stained couch, dirty windows, and nasty carpets with holes. When we left, the elevator barely seemed to work. Thankfully we got out before the door closed for good, because we had several kids with us and otherwise would have had to walk down four floors. Save your time and money and stay somewhere else. The whole place is old and dirty.
The outside grounds are overgrown and have garbage around, and the rooms are horrible and disgusting. Inside, there was no comforter on the bed, and a picture was left on the floor. The room looked ugly, with cheap updates slapped together in the bathroom. This place used to be good years ago when Traveling enterprise owned it. After it was sold, it went downhill. Some people shouldn't own hotels, and this group is one of them. Now Choice hotels has put its name on the property, and I wonder whether it'll meet the requirements. As a Choice privilege member, you won't catch me at these low-end brands anymore.
Tyler and Jesse were amazing, and I really appreciated how clean they keep the property. The rates are affordable, and I was happy with the beds, rooms, and accommodations. Definitely recommend this location. Thank you!
Everything felt grimy, and we left as early as we could the next morning. The bathroom had mold or mildew, and its ceiling looked ready to cave in. Windows, mirrors, and other surfaces were dirty. The thin blanket on the bed had a cigarette burn, dust was thick on the bedside lamp, and the tissue box was lying open, presumably broken. The shower curtain rod was bent and looked like it might fall, while the chair was threadbare, worse than anything I've seen in a resale shop. This was the worst hotel experience we've ever had. We don't mind an older hotel if it's clean and maintained, but this was anything but. I don't need anything fancy, just clean, and I would not recommend staying here.
