Glass House Inn Erie Near I-90 & I-79

We could hear every word when one set of neighbors argued through the night, and the walls seemed paper thin. Another neighbor appeared to live there. The bed was unbelievably uncomfortable, barely seemed like a mattress, and the chair had what looked like love stains all over it. The room had supposedly been updated, but looked as if it hadn't been dusted in years. There were stains on the bedding, and after we asked for a change, the fresh set was stained too.

The Hotel Laurel at Seneca Lake isn't perfect, but its rooms show how you can update a place and keep some character. Here, the renovation took all of that out. They could at least have kept the old sinks and bathroom tile. Instead, it feels like another grey box, the sort of thing any chain hotel could manage. With more patience, the owners could have gone for a tasteful retro or kitsch look.

I stayed here for five days while waiting for my apartment. The location was great and the room was clean, with nice updates. I tried a place that was $20 cheaper for one night, and it definitely wasn't worth saving the money. I'd recommend this place.

You can park right outside your door, and getting in and out was easy. The place was neat and clean, with what you need at a good price, though it's not fancy. My bed wasn't especially comfortable, but it was okay for one night. One staff member did knock and rattle our door an hour before checkout.
