Red Roof Inn Cincinnati Airport–Florence/ Erlanger

The staff and management are consistently kind, and when I've needed something they've handled it right away and gone out of their way to help. My first pet stays free, the beds are extremely comfortable, and I've never found the place dirty or smelling bad. The only exception I can imagine is a room accidentally missed during cleaning, not carelessness. The building is old, and the outside has a bit of a black eye, but I see them renovating it little by little. For someone trying to save money, it's well worth it. We love staying here and do so whenever the need comes up, usually every week. It's always been comfortable, and we'll keep coming back happily.

We were in the room for only about five minutes before checking out. The hotel was disappointing, dirty, felt unsecured and unhealthy, and didn't look like the pictures of how it used to look. The clerk didn't ask why we were leaving, only reminded us that a third-party booking was nonrefundable. The hotel wouldn't return our room charge. There were no amenities, the grounds were poorly lit, and you couldn't see the room numbers from your car. They apparently put only good guests in rooms at the back. They also wanted to copy my credit card in case I damaged or broke something. Really?

It's convenient for work, and once I factor in gas and travel time, staying here often costs less than driving back and forth. I've been here many times over the past three years. Carmen and Pedro keep my room clean, while Sam and Kelly give me great service. Even a newer employee recognized me by name this morning before scanning my ID.

The bathroom was nice, and the TV had cable and HBO. That's about all I liked. My room had no carpet, very worn furniture, chair fabric worn away, dirty washcloths, and a torn window curtain. The common areas were also in poor shape, with garbage along the walkways and odd construction going on. I was assigned a smoking room despite not smoking; when I asked for a nonsmoking one, the clerk said it would cost $15 more per night. I wasn't okay with that.
