The bathroom was tiny, with a very small toilet that I had to use without the seat. The sink barely drained, there was no soap, privacy was poor, and there weren’t enough towels. The door was also really hard to open. My mom snores heavily, so I didn’t sleep well either. This is an awful motel, especially for a stay longer than a day or if you’re with people you don’t get along with. You can see a better hotel from here, so go there if you can.

After some hard life lessons, my wife and I needed to build a new life. We contacted 78 motels about weekly or monthly housing. The prices we heard were abysmal, and many places wouldn’t take us because we had a dog we didn’t want to give up. That’s how we found this motel. The price quoted was steep for us then, but not absurd. When we arrived, I wondered, “what has my life come to?” We ended up staying almost a year while my career grew. The staff treated us like family, the prices never changed, and whenever we needed something, they helped with a smile. My wife and I became pregnant shortly before we left, and the staff celebrated with us like family too. We have a house not far away now. Good people still exist, and we were lucky to meet them here. This really is the hotel of second chances, and the people who work there will always have a place in our hearts. Never judge a book by its cover, the story is inside. A special thank you to the staff of the Inn of Loudon. Without you, life might have turned out differently.

I was driving from Michigan to Florida and stopped for the night because of rain. This is the creepiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in, and I’ve had a rough run of hotels this week. I might have been better off at a haunted Waffle House. At check-in, the clerk kept falling asleep while trying to get me a room. I had to wake her several times and couldn’t tell if I was checking in or watching a very low-energy improv show. Not exactly reassuring before I’d even gotten a key. The room was worse: no blankets, just a sad sheet, and no toilet paper. The lights flickered, then the power went out a few times. I was starting to expect a jump scare. This place gave me the creeps. If spooky survival-game vibes are your thing, maybe you’ll like it. Everyone else should keep driving, sleep in the car, at a gas station, or standing up at a rest stop. Just don’t stop here.

I stayed three days. The rooms were clean, with clean sheets and towels, and the staff were friendly and gave great service. The bed was a bed, and I slept like a bug in a rug. I didn’t see any bugs or get bitten. It was nice overall, and I’d recommend it.

I made a last-minute stop at 4 am, and the woman at the desk was very accommodating. The dogs were happy, and the room was clean enough that my socks stayed white on the walk from the bathroom to the bed. It had a microwave and fridge, a clean oversized bathtub, and a decent bed with nice pillows.
