My husband and I were passing through, and the gas station next door was closed. I was visibly pregnant, but the hotel tenant wouldn’t let us in to use the lobby restroom. She stood in the doorway and turned us away. I ended up having to pee beside our truck wheel. That lack of compassion for our situation says a lot about their guest service.

It flooded during hurricane Helene and smells like mold. Repairs have taken far longer than they should. Go somewhere else.

The staff handled this so unprofessionally and completely avoided the issue. The day after my stay, I took off the pillowcases so the cleaning staff could have them, and found several blood and sweat stains on the pillows. I wasn’t asking for any money back. I went to the desk and asked to watch the man there throw them away. He said he needed to show his manager first. I told him to take pictures and throw them out because people can catch diseases from this. He said, “okay, let me call my manager,” then called the police to have me removed from the property. Stay away. You could catch diseases, and the staff here are unprofessional. They can expect a visit from the health department soon.

My room was clean and very quiet, and the staff were friendly and helpful whenever I ran into them, even though they were mostly out of sight. The AC and heater looked fairly new and worked perfectly, and the plumbing and electricity worked. I didn’t notice mold, tobacco, air freshener, or cleaning product smells. The dated look, dingy public spaces, and signs of penny-pinching could make for a comedy routine, but they were only minor annoyances for me. There weren’t outlets where you’d expect for a phone or laptop, the microwave was down the hall instead of in the room, and the breakfast bar had slim pickings.
