Motel Mediteran Escondido

For the price, these rooms are hard to beat around here. Mine was clean, and we had plenty of privacy. The place is pretty far inland, so finding things to do meant traveling a bit, but it was an affordable, comfortable base for a visit. I'm glad I trusted the place.

I got upset over a small mix-up at the front desk and raised my voice. The attendant stayed patient and kind, and forgave me. The room was nicer than I'd expected, the bathroom was really nice, and everything was clean. Thanks, and I'm sorry again for being such a jerk.

That Thai place next door is FIRE, absolutely delicious. Motel Mediteran is tucked away from San Diego's noise, and it had both a microwave for leftovers and a mini fridge for cold water, while pricier places I looked at didn't. No free breakfast, but we'd stay here again for sure. The beds were comfy, the staff were nice, and everything was SUPER clean. The Motel Mediteran Family made our Christmas vacation even better with incredible service. Happy holidays! 100 stars, zero complaints.

We spent almost two hours trying to sort this out, then gave up when the front desk wasn't helping. I asked for a Queen-sized bed and was first given two full-sized beds with stains all over them. The desk attendant told me there were no Queens available and claimed a full bed was the same size as a Queen, which it isn't. After Hotels.com contacted them for us, we were moved to the Queen-sized room I'd requested. But it turned out their “Queen-sized” rooms use a full bed too. The curtain covers were broken, and the bedding was stained as well. We left for a Motel 6 in Carlsbad, which was far better. The owner denied our refund request. Don't waste your money here.
