La Quinta Las Cruces Organ Mountain

The receptionist was great and moved us to another room after I told them the first one smelled strongly of dog urine and my mom started vomiting. The replacement was clean, but it still had that urine smell. Rooms set aside for pets should have no carpet, or the carpet needs to be shampooed more than once a day.

I stayed on 12/25 and had to leave to find somewhere better. The refrigerator was sticky, there was dust around the TV, and the TV didn't work. This place feels outdated, like it might have been good 20 years ago, but ownership seems lax now. It needs a complete makeover or should be removed from the La Quinta brand.

Breakfast was a nice spread: waffles, hard-boiled eggs, oatmeal, fresh fruit, cereal, bagels, coffee, and juice. The rooms were comfortable and very clean, with well-kept linens, bedding, and towels. I also appreciated the soap dish by the sink, a small thing you rarely see in hotels. We were very pleased with our stay. After a recent visit to Extended Stay America in Wichita, La Quinta is the hotel I prefer.

We stayed one night on the drive from Texas to AZ. The room was nice for the price, and the staff were friendly. In room 425, though, the AC rattled and vibrated the floor hard enough that I could feel it in bed. It woke me several times. I hope the hotel looks into it. When we left Saturday morning, there was no one at the counter.
