Mari checked us in at 1:30 am and was professional and kind. Even with motel 8 full of cops, she made us feel safe. But the beds in our room were dirty, as if the sheets hadn’t been changed. At 2 am, the lights and plumbing went out, leaving us without heat or water until 9 am. We called, but no one answered. When checking out, we explained what happened, yet they charged us five dollars for a washcloth we’d used to wipe up water on their floor, leaving it filthy. We didn’t have enough towels to take a shower anyway. This motel 9 in Las Cruces, New Mexico was awful, and we travel a lot and have stayed at many motels. We won’t stay at Motel 9 again. Motel 8 next door was much better, and I’d stay with them anytime. They should inspect rooms after guests leave and before the next guests arrive.

Things are improving at this hotel under new management. Ceci was professional and lovely to talk with, and she took care of any problems quickly. The maintenance and landscaping teams seem to understand that keeping the place clean matters. I felt safe, my puppy enjoyed walking around the grounds, and the coffee at 6 was nice.

Our vehicle broke down about 11min away, and when we reached the room it was filthy. The bedding clearly hadn’t been changed and had what looked like dried blood or poop on it. There were cockroaches, and the sink was clogged. I definitely don’t recommend this place.

This place is on the way up, with beautiful landscaping and rooms that are nice and comfortable. Ceci, the front desk/manager, is very nice and professional. They’re pet friendly too. I’d recommend it if you’re passing through. Thanks, guys.

I stayed one night not long ago. The bedside lamp didn’t work, there was no microwave or coffee maker, and the fridge was bad. The bed was filthy and left us itching. There was also a roach in the bathroom. Definitely don’t recommend it.
