We had a fridge and freezer, and the temperature controls worked well. The WiFi also stayed connected without interruptions. Our room had three queen beds, which worked for our family of six, though the room looked a little outdated. The tub drain was in poor shape, and the bathroom felt old and a bit small. There was no free breakfast.

I prepaid for three nights while my daughter was in the hospital. A few hours after checking in, I found out I could stay in the room with her at the hospital with my dog, so I asked Coral for a refund. She agreed to return only two nights, which seemed fair, and I cleared out the room. I’d never used it other than to wash my hands. When I checked out, I asked if she could refund the pet fee too, but she refused. I ended up paying $120 for a room I hadn’t used, even though the original rate was $68 a night. It felt terrible to be screwed over by this smiley, friendly woman. Coral is honestly kind until money is involved, then she’s a shark. The nicer hotels in town with free hot breakfast cost less than this rundown place. Coral, if you’re reading this, you should be ashamed of yourself.

I’ve stayed in so many small, independently owned hotels and motels that they’ve all blurred together, but this is one I’ll remember. The owner made a big difference to my trip. She was super friendly and genuine, and she and her family actually care and will do what they can for you. The rooms and location fit my needs perfectly, and there’s really nothing more I could ask for. The big, fancy places have their perks, but if you want a bunch of things most people don’t even use, this probably isn’t the spot. If you want somewhere comfortable where people care, this is it. I think places everywhere should use it as an example. I’m a man from Oklahoma who’s stayed in the most expensive suites you can imagine across multiple states, as well as places that were basically a cot in a room. I truly wish I could find more places like this. Come with an open mind and a willingness to talk with someone who cares. My opinion may not mean much to others, but I’ll do my best to stay here again whenever I can.

I hadn’t booked ahead on a recent trip to Arizona and got turned away by over half a dozen full motels. Close to midnight, after striking out at the inn next door, I stopped at the Royal Host Motel by chance, ready to sleep in my truck. The office was lit but locked, and it looked empty. Then the owner came over to my truck and explained she’d been helping another guest. That was my first sign of the caring service I’d find at the Royal Host Motel. We chatted during check-in and found a shared connection to the Texas Gulf Coast, which made things feel personal. The room was clean, well-maintained, and stocked with essentials. You could tell the owners take pride in the place. The AC was off when I arrived, as some other reviewers have said, but even on a hot June night it wasn’t a big issue. I turned it on, took a refreshing shower, and the room had cooled down a lot by bedtime. The owner’s hospitality and the care put into the rooms made my stay comfortable and enjoyable. I’d feel safe staying here with my family, and I’d happily return. If you’re passing through Las Cruces and need a place, the Royal Host Motel is worth considering.
