Hotel Las Cruces I-10 West

The woman at the front desk kindly let me check in early, even though I had arrived ahead of time. I accidentally demagnetized my key card a few times, and they had no problem helping me each time. The room was clean, the staff friendly, and there was hot water. I had a good stay and would come back. At first the place looked iffy, and I was worried about what I'd gotten myself into. I took off one star because the bed was really uncomfortable and the door didn't seem to shut all the way. For the first two days, there was also a sewage smell outside. I'm guessing waste management is somewhere nearby.

I reserved a room with three beds by phone, but when I arrived they only had a one-king room available. I said that wouldn't work and asked for a refund so I could book somewhere else. They said I left, but seven days later the money is still missing from my account. The hotel was full of shady people, and the lobby smelled like smoke. Avoid this hotel.

The Coachlight is reasonably priced and good quality, with nice management and offerings that are worth the cost. There's a laundry room and internet, among other things. The Cafe next door, the pit stop, also has good food.

The hotel is closed, but the RV Park is open and is one of the best bargains in New Mexico. It's $500 with all bills paid and no move-in deposit.
