Comfort Suites University Las Cruces

We were told at checkout that the full amount would be refunded, but instead we’ve seen five separate charges totaling almost $600. Hotel management and “corporate” have both been unhelpful, and now they’re refusing to refund us. I wish I’d taken photos. Don’t stay here. The problems started with cockroaches in the room and a system issue over our extension. We had extended our stay, but at midnight a staff member came to our room and threatened to kick us out, saying we hadn’t. The issue was on their end, and the way they handled it was completely unprofessional. The advertised heated pool was freezing, like a cold plunge, and dirty. A smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling. Breakfast was questionable, and most of the food was gone soon after the stated breakfast time began. There was no staff around to restock it. This was the worst hotel stay and experience of my life.

The room layout worked great for our last night before dropping our son off at NMSU. We had space for the beds, plus a separate area with a couch, table, and bench where we could play board games and UNO. It was perfect for us, and the comforter was so comfortable I wanted one for home. I didn’t check its tag, though, so no luck there, lol. The boys enjoyed the pool, and there was also a small gym and free breakfast. The bathrooms were very clean, and the shower had plenty of pressure and hot water. I was especially glad the place was clean. The walls are pretty thin, and I could hear the neighbors talking. I think it was because there was a door between our rooms in case we’d booked adjoining rooms. There was also a slight cigarette smell. We let an employee know so we wouldn’t be charged the $250 fee for something they might think we’d done. No big deal, but worth mentioning. I’d highly recommend staying here. I added some extra photos from our trip to drop Sean off at college.

Our room is roomy, clean, and really comfortable, and the customer service has been wonderful. It’s just around the corner from my doctor’s office, which is so convenient. I’ll stay here again.

Tony deserves a big shoutout. He made a rough few days and my first time in NM a lot easier, and did a lot to make sure my stay went well. Five stars for his service.
