Studio 6 Suites Escondido, CA

The rooms have lovely marble desk tops, and the bathrooms are unusually nice for a Motel 6. I've been coming here for about 5 years, and the renovation has really raised the standard compared with most places in San Diego county. The staff are a big part of why I return. Kathy, Eduardo, Noah, Jose, and the rest of the office are always ready to help, and the housekeepers are great too. My husband and I have stayed here for quite some time, so they recognize us and greet us by name. It feels like being among friends and family. Yogesh and his wife Dimple are so friendly, and their children are adorable. It's always a pleasure to see them when I stop by the office for fresh coffee in the morning.

The air conditioning worked great, and being right off the 15 freeway was really convenient. The beds could have been better, though, and cleaning missed a fairly large dead spider on the ceiling over the bed. Still, for a budget motel, it wasn't bad and I'd recommend it.

The place looks much nicer inside now, with upgraded rooms, and the staff are cheerful and helpful. Kathy gave us amazing customer service. I'd definitely stay here again.

I had a terrible stay. Asking for a few clean towels upset the staff member, and she got mad at me. The fire alarm battery kept making noise, but when maintenance came, he said he couldn't hear it, then got angry that it was going off and slammed the alarm back into the wall. The grounds were the worst part. This is now being used to house homeless people, almost like an apartment building, and there were drug deals and drug use around the property. The whole experience was awful.
