Express Inn & Suites

I’ve never had service this good in a motel or hotel. The people managing Express Inn & Suites showed care, empathy, and generosity, and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. If you’re in Eugene, I highly recommend it. The room impressed me for the price: a spacious layout with a queen bed, couch and table, desk and chair, mini fridge, and vanity separate from the bathroom. If standard toiletries or hygiene products are missing, the husband will gladly bring what you need. When people displaced by a fire in the surrounding area needed help, the owner graciously let them stay at the motel. Not many places nearby were as generous. The managers keep a vigilant eye on the property and don’t allow “riff raff” around. I don’t understand complaints about the rooms. Edit: Before deciding based on negative reviews, come by Express Inn & Suites and see for yourself. You won’t be disappointed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was dirty throughout, with uncomfortable beds, flat pillows, dirty couches, and sticky surfaces. There were a few bugs, and the locks were bad enough that I barricaded the door to stop people coming in. It felt unsafe and sketchy, with homeless people around, a sketchy mobile home in the parking lot, police sirens all night, and a nearby train waking me at least twice each night. The owner and her husband live onsite, as do other people. I saw a “Thank you for not smoking” sign while the owner smoked right beside it. They were rude and unprofessional. The listing was also very false: no free breakfast, housekeeping, or free Wi-Fi. I’ve been in bad rooming situations, but this takes the cake. If I could rate it lower, I would.

The managers, a husband and wife who live there, were extremely rude. They tried to turn away our service dog, and only stopped when we said we’d call the Eugene Police. They then tried to deny us because we were homeless. That’s discrimination. Please teach them the law, thank you.

We were trying to check in when a man the manager described by his behavior as her boyfriend came out yelling at us to turn around because there was “no cut through.” I still don’t know what he meant. The manager then came out of that same room, said they had no vacancy, and kept harassing us. It was a really strange and unsettling encounter. I wouldn’t stay here if feeling safe matters to you.
