We were at the Texas Bungalow for three nights, the last weekend of May 2026, for the annual Blues Festival. It turned out to be a much shorter walk to downtown and Spring Street than we'd expected, and the Intrigue theatre is right across the street, a great small venue for the magic and illusionist show. The bungalow is on Mountain Street. Walking into town is an easy downhill stroll, but the climb back up is wickedly steep. Along the way, there are lots of unique homes to admire, and stopping for a breather can sometimes lead to a chat with locals. The Trolley stops right at the door for anyone who'd rather not walk. We liked having more room than a hotel offers. The bungalow is fairly large, with a small but functional kitchen, including a frig, microwave, and stove. Dishes and utensils are there, though they're very Eureka Springs style, so don't expect matching sets. Coffee, filters, salt, and pepper were provided. The decor is comfy, with Texaco memorabilia, cute furniture, lamps, tables, a TV, and books. The bathroom is small but had enough space for both of us. It was very clean and well lit, and toiletries and towels were provided. We only stayed three nights, so we didn't need cleaning service. There are upper and lower outdoor decks. We chose the upper one in the evenings for its shade and because the AC unit on the lower deck puts out a lot of heat in summer. We noticed a small hole in a window that was visible only from the deck, and reported it to our Vrbo host. We could have used another dish towel since we cooked breakfast and lunch there. The front room is very comfortable and has lots of windows, but at night we had to close the shades all the way to block streetlights and headlights. We enjoyed the stay, the location, all the room, and the many outlets for charging phones and iPads.

We stayed in the smaller space while our friends had the larger one, and we loved it. The Texaco Bungalows are so cute, homey, and beautifully decorated, in a great spot in Eureka Springs close to everything. A horse-drawn carriage goes by often and offers rides around the area, and the horse is beautiful! The people we booked with were really nice and accommodating. We'd happily stay again and would also like to try the larger space next time. Give the Texaco Bungalows a try, you'll love them!

Dalton and Brittany were wonderful hosts. My husband and I had such a good time at the Texaco bungalow for our third anniversary. The place was really neat, and we loved our stay.

That back patio was a great spot to relax, and the kitchen made it easy to put together meals or snacks. The place feels cozy and is in a handy location for a Eureka Springs getaway. I appreciated the DVD player, too. A few drawbacks: there were no wine glasses and not many dishes, toiletries were limited, and the bed was firm. Parking is on the street, and sometimes another car is parked just a foot from your door.

The bungalow was clean and pleasant, but the security problems made us feel unsafe. There was no deadbolt or second lock on either door, so anyone with a key could get in. On our second day, we took the key from the lockbox with us and left our valuables inside. When we returned that evening, another key had been placed in the door's key slot. A family then drove up and told us they'd booked the unit for that day and had been given an entry code. They saw our belongings, left, and called the rental company. We still don't know who put a second key in the lockbox for them. Inside, we found that our kitchen food had been thrown away, as if someone had started cleaning up. That suggests two separate parties had access to our space and belongings. Thankfully, nothing was missing, but we didn't feel safe at all that night. Vacasa was unhelpful and seemed not to care. They said there was no record of anyone else having access, even though two other people entered with keys. I'm very unhappy and won't use Vacasa again.
