The Woodsman Lodge

We really liked the spacious Hill House, cabin #4, and the area was fairly quiet with a great location. When childcare with my parents fell through, we had to bring our 23 month old, but there was plenty of room for all of us. I also appreciated how kind and understanding Morten & McKenzie were when a snowstorm changed our plans for January. Since we live in OK, we didn't want to risk getting stuck on the drive, and they let us change dates at the last minute. My one complaint is the curtains. They weren’t dark enough, so outside lights came through at night and bright sun woke us in the morning. Still, it’s a lovely property and we'd be glad to visit again.

We got in late and couldn't find our lodge in the dark, but the number I called was answered right away and I was guided to it. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the porch, where there was a great view and a nice Solo stove outside the room. We had a really nice stay and would definitely recommend Woodsman Lodge.

Texting to check in was quick and convenient, especially since I arrived late and didn't need to go to the front desk. The rooms were welcoming and exceptionally clean. I liked the history and age you can see inside the buildings, it gives the place a real Eureka feel. It was a great value for a clean, accessible spot. I had a great visit and will use the Woodsman as my base camp next time.

The snow-covered mountains looked beautiful from the hot tub, which made an already cozy, peaceful cabin even more relaxing. Our hosts were friendly and accommodating. We had a great experience and would come back.
