Comfort Inn Humboldt Bay Hotel

The staff knew their food options and had good suggestions at any time of day. I also loved the lemon water in the lobby. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were a real highlight in Humboldt’s cold, rainy weather. Breakfast was filling, made with quality ingredients, and the dining areas were well kept and family friendly. I’d stay again and recommend it to families wanting to be near Eureka in a safer, family friendly area.

The room was good, and I liked being able to connect my phone to the TV. It’s conveniently right off the highway. I wasn’t feeling well, so I didn’t try the pool. The food was okay, though the eggs weren’t the best; I did find enough to satisfy my hunger. Just an honest five-star review, hope it helps.

Within an hour of checking in, we found a roach in our room, so the stay wasn’t satisfactory. Staff told us we could talk to management about a refund. When we called, the person said she was an assistant manager and wouldn’t discuss a refund, claiming pests on the property are brought in by guests, despite our photos and physical evidence. We also tried contacting the owners, Shailesh and Jay Patel, but got no response.

We had a two-queen room and plenty of space for two adults and our two toddlers. Breakfast was great, with options for the whole family. There isn’t a guest laundry room. The place was clean everywhere we saw, from our room and the hallways to the lobby, dining area, pool, and workout room. I even saw into the laundry room when its door was open, and that was clean too. It’s near the mall and lots of restaurants, and the beach or zoo aren’t a long drive. Jessica makes a real difference when she’s there. Everything runs smoothly and quickly, and her customer service is excellent. You can tell when she’s there and when she isn’t. It’s a very nice place to stay.
