Red Lion Hotel Eureka

The rooms are nice, though you can definitely hear the neighbors. Breakfast was okay, mostly continental on the weekends, and housekeeping had a few minor issues but nothing major. The employees were very friendly, and I'd definitely stay again!

We asked for a ground-floor room, but the first one was upstairs on the second floor and had no heat. They moved us to a two-room suite, where one room also had no heat. Even after running the water for 20 minutes, it still wasn't hot. Breakfast was supposed to start at 7, but when we came down at 8 the room was pitch dark, there were only a few scattered choices, and the breakfast items we were allowed to order weren't ready. I'm never staying here again.

The location worked well for us, right by Target and a short trip from downtown and the bridges to the beaches. Homeless people are hard to avoid anywhere in Eureka, so I think you'd run into that at any hotel in town. Starbucks is just across the street, which helped since breakfast left a lot to be desired. We were also disappointed that the pool closed at 8 PM, cutting our evening swims short. Our family of five had plenty of room in the two-room suite, and the quiet atmosphere made it easy to unwind after a busy day exploring. The property is showing its age, but the rooms were clean and well maintained. The beds weren't the most comfortable, though I slept fine. I'd consider staying again mainly for the roomy layout and access to the beach bridges.

Miss Connie went above and beyond when she answered some questions after checkout, and we'll be back when our next adventure brings us there. My wife, our four children, and our service animal stayed at the Red Lion Hotel in Eureka. The room was spacious and clean, and the complimentary breakfast bar was just what we needed before heading out. It felt like a safe, budget-friendly place to bring the family.
