Oak Tree Inn

I knew the hotel was old when I booked. What I wanted was somewhere clean and quiet for three days, and the large king room worked well. There was plenty of hot water and enough pressure to practically peel your skin off. It was easy to get around the area from the hotel's location. I gave it five stars for cleanliness and five for service. If something goes wrong, report it right away instead of waiting and then leaving a bad review.

The toilet wouldn't flush, there was no hot water, dead bugs in the bathroom, and live ones crawling near the bed. When we complained, they just kept saying, "NO, IT'S FANTASTIC!" and "NO REFUNDS!!" There wasn't even a conversation. We had no idea the place was under new management, and it was poor. Honestly, you'd be better off sleeping in your car. Don't bother trying it.

The owner's care for the business and the guests really showed. When guests on the second-floor balcony got loud and disruptive on our third night, one call to the front desk was enough. The owner handled it right away and stayed professional. We felt comfortable bringing up any questions or concerns, and they were handled beautifully. We were traveling for my husband's work, but tornadoes that had recently hit across MS meant we needed to switch motels quickly. The owner let us check in early and offered a very reasonable weekly rate. The place was clean, comfortable, and affordable, and the owner was understanding and attentive. Staying here made my husband's work commute faster, and our time here was stress-free and enjoyable. I'd recommend it for a short or long stay, and we'd absolutely return if we get the chance. The room was filthy, so we stayed just 15 minutes, long enough to book another hotel. I booked two nights through Expedia and unfortunately lost my money. I'd give zero stars if I could.
