Sunrise Inn

We had to book here because every other hotel nearby was sold out, but nothing in our room was clean. Everything was stained or broken, including sheets with stains and several rips. The shower curtain had a huge cigarette burn. The AC unit was coated in melted, sticky liquid with gum jammed into it, and the carpet was covered in dark, sticky marks that looked like they'd never been cleaned. We had to buy our own sheets and cleaning supplies just to feel okay staying the night. I don't expect a motel to be fancy or perfect, but this was unbelievably disgusting, almost like a prank. Even if you're desperate, skip it. You'd be better off camping or sleeping in your car.

Our room was given away even though I booked a week ahead and called early to say we'd arrive late. They said that was okay, but when we got there they'd already given it to someone else. To make room for us, they kicked out another reservation. We were booked for two guests, yet they wouldn't give us more than one trowel. The sheets had cigarette burns, the smoke alarm was missing, the TV channels were full of static, and the AC fan was horribly loud. The carpet and floors were sticky. How bad does it get?

The room smelled like fish, the bed was awful, and the sheets were uncomfortable to sleep on. Everything was very dirty, and they asked for $100 cash up front for damages. Worst motel I've ever stayed in. I can't believe a place like this is in the USA.

The room was at the far end of the property, which was especially hard for me after surgery. When I asked to move, they said the hotel was full, though I rarely saw more than three people around. After a week, I asked for a refund so I could leave, but was told the money was no longer available. They also kept my entire deposit, despite the glass we found in the bathroom looking like it came from a bubble. I spent hours cleaning, and the room was rancid. Mike at the front desk made me deeply uncomfortable. He walked past our window and braide me once my husband left for work, and made a sexual comment to me as a Black woman. There were three occasions when he acted that way while my husband wasn't around. When my husband came home at 5 AM, Mike called me screaming, then changed his attitude once my husband came downstairs. The experience was uncomfortable and traumatic, and I won't return. Check-in itself was straightforward, and I was staying with my husband and daughter. Mike also refused to replace my key, even though I only needed a roomate key because keeping it by my phone had disengage it. He said they don't give out new keys. They also demand ID from every visitor, which I understand as a precaution, but it felt excessive. Don't waste your time or money.
