River Wilderness Waterfront Cabins

The setting by the water is beautiful and peaceful, but that was the only part I liked. For what we paid, the cabin was a huge letdown. It felt more like a cheap roadside place than a waterfront retreat, and I wouldn't stay again unless they made major improvements. The bed was awful, too soft, lumpy, and noisy, with springs I could feel while trying to sleep. The sofabed sagged badly and was painful too. The furniture was old and worn, as if the cabin hadn't been updated in decades. Even the fridge was rusty inside and out, and its handle felt gross. This place is far too expensive for what you get. It's a shame with such lovely nature around it.

The villa was clean, comfortable, beautiful, and felt safe. Its screened porch was fabulous and even bigger than I expected, and from my kitchen window I watched dolphins jumping. There's a restaurant and fishing store across the street. My son and I stayed at River Wilderness Villas last weekend in July 2025, and it was one of our best weekends away. We arrived early, and Tatum checked us in without any problem. She suggested the pool since there were children there for my son to play with, which he loved. She also sorted out an issue I had with Booking.com and told us about the local wildlife. We'll be back again and again. Thank you, Tatum and River Wilderness Villas! 🥰

The cabins were clean, and the customer service was perfect. It's a pet-friendly place, with great local food nearby. A lovely spot for a romantic getaway, or just to relax and enjoy the Everglades. I highly recommend it.

We spent two nights here with our children and paid over $500, but the property needed serious repairs. The main bedroom's air conditioner didn't work, and we had two bad nights of sleep. Although it looked like the place had been painted recently, the furniture was very dated and damaged and needed replacing. The hospitality felt nonexistent. We were given a scruffy-looking sheet saying we'd be charged another $150 if any dishes were left dirty, yet there was no dishwasher and the oven looked as if it had never been cleaned. The cooker seemed very old, and the hob burners moved around, which felt unsafe. The BBQ had been left completely destroyed on the lawn, another safety concern with children who might play in the garden. For this price, it really wasn't what we expected.
