Pines Motel

We paid about $130 for the night. The room was clean, including the bed, linens, and bathroom, and the wall mounted AC cooled it really well. It was small, but I thought it was great overall. A shuttle picked us up, took us to the casino, and brought us back around 2am, which was nice. I didn't know they allowed dogs, so I'd take advantage of that next time. We never got the WiFi working, even with the code from the front desk lady. Still, I'd definitely stay again.

We left after three hours and didn't even try to get our money back. The fleas were jumping on us, and we hadn't even pulled back the bedding to look. There were cobwebs and spiders in the bathroom, and its tiny size meant the door couldn't close while you used it. The room had two beds but barely any space to move around. The TV had some kind of fluid running down the front of the screen. There was a microwave but no refrigerator. If that kind of stay doesn't bother you, this may be the place for you.

The staff were friendly, and we got a discount at the casino, but I expected much better after reading the reviews, especially at $100 a night. The blanket was stained and filthy. It had been warm, so I took the comforter and blanket off when we arrived late in the dark and used only the top sheet. The room was so cramped you couldn't open the bathroom door while sitting on the bed. There was only a sink in the bathroom, no vanity, and the pipes were exposed and rusty.

We got a room just in time for a lovely night in St Ignace. It was cute and quiet, with beach access nearby. The new lady who helped us was wonderful and really helpful, and the owner was kind and made sure our stay went well. We'll definitely stay here next time we're in town.
