The staff were really nice and the food was decent. But the room had problems, especially the Wi-Fi. Some of my group had a strong connection, while a few of us had none at all. With slow phone service too, I couldn’t answer emails or work from my room. I was told it would be fixed the next day, then got the same answer again. After four days, someone finally said, “I don’t know when it will be fixed.” It didn’t seem like anyone intended to fix it, which really hurt my rating. My shower drain was clogged, with hair coming out of it. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you need Wi-Fi for work.

We stayed at Bear Lodge for a summer weekend and would gladly return. The rooms were quiet, clean, spacious, and comfortable, with modern bedding and cozy mattresses and pillows. The AC worked very well, which we needed in the Fairbanks heat. Outside the window we could see greenery and flowers. Management clearly looks after the grounds: the building looked freshly painted, the grass was neat, and the flowers alongside the old-time trucks were a lovely touch. Staff were friendly and respectful.

The staff were pleasant, and our rooms were clean and quiet. We were there with a group, and breakfast was four-star. Dinner was another story: I ordered fish at the restaurant and it was horrible. My husband said we shouldn’t have paid for it, but we did. I asked to take it away and then threw it out.

The grounds are lovely, and the place felt safe and secure. Our spacious room had a mini fridge. We ordered burgers and grilled chicken sandwiches, and there was plenty of food. Walmart is about a mile away on foot, handy for last-minute things.
