I didn’t stay, since it looked like they were updating the place. We’ll try it next time we’re passing through.

Crete Carriers sent me here, and it was among the five worst hotels I’ve stayed in. The staff were nice, but the place felt lazy and stingy about replacing basic things. I was miserable for days, and had frequent asthma attacks, presumably from dust since I’m highly allergic. There were no blankets, just a sheet and decorative cover. The pillows were old, dirty, uncomfortable wads of batting. The beds had 3-4 inch shelves where years of use had worn dents into them. There was no hair dryer, even though the area gets very cold and icy in winter. The apple juice left black flakes in my cup, which I only noticed after drinking some. Gross. The “food” was old Nutri-Grain bars. No ice, water, or vending machine, and I had to ask for a TV remote. The rooms weren’t cleaned thoroughly, or even remotely well. The fridge was disgusting, with mold everywhere. Filth had built up along all the walls, and piles of hair stayed on the floor all week. The soap they provided also broke out my skin. The stairs and walkways were covered in ice, with no salt and no care taken, which was especially fun when carrying things up and down the stairs.

The location was handy, right off the highway and near places to get breakfast. The room smelled, the beds were uncomfortable, and the springs creaked. It had no smoke detector, just the wall bracket where one should be, and no sprinkler system either. I know it’s an older building, so maybe that’s an old building code. The chair was weak and wobbly, and its armrest pulled right off. I felt like the whole thing could break while I was sitting in it.

For a last-minute Saturday to Sunday stay on 5/31/25-6/1/25, the room was perfect for our trip to the nearby lake. The room was very clean and had a small fridge and microwave. We didn’t use the pool, but looked at it and found it very clean. The young woman at the desk was super sweet, and the room and staff were much better than I expected for such reasonable weekend pricing, which can sometimes feel sketchy. We were driving a truck with a pontoon boat and found parking easy. We could see the boat from our window, and the parking lot was well lit.
