Springhill Suites Milford

The suites were a highlight, with a little kitchenette, living area, separate TV, and desk. My room was beautiful, and the hotel was very clean and well kept. The location right off the highway was convenient, though I enjoy listening to cars and trucks on the road. There’s a bar for anyone wanting cocktails. The front desk staff were welcoming and explained everything clearly. This is becoming one of my go-to places for an overnight stay in CT. Thanks for making my birthday weekend special.

The service on Christmas morning was the worst part. I asked for a later checkout, which I’ve usually been able to get as a Bonvoy member, and Terez was rude and dismissive. She said every Marriott is different and ended the call. Even her greeting sounded annoyed, as though I was bothering her. I won’t stay here again, and this didn’t match the hospitality I expect from Marriott. The room floors were stained and dirty, the elevator smelled bad, and highway traffic was loud while we were trying to sleep. Breakfast options were underwhelming too.

The suite was comfortable and reasonably quiet, with a useful layout, two TVs, and a futon as well as two queen beds. We were three adults staying three nights over Veterans Day weekend for a nearby event, in a third-floor room at SpringHill Suites by Marriott Milford. The location was convenient, and the property looked modern and inviting from outside. Still, our stay had mixed results, especially with cleanliness and how consistently staff responded. The futon linen looked unclean, and although we politely asked both housekeeping and the front desk, it was never replaced. Check-in was confusing too. We were sent back and forth between this hotel and the Residence Inn next door before it was sorted out. Around the room, caulk was peeling and there were marks near the wall art. Food spills by the elevator also sat around for a while, making it seem like housekeeping might be stretched thin. A small in-room locker or safe would’ve been handy, though the basic amenities were otherwise fine. At checkout, there was a commotion in the lobby and what looked like a guest issue involving police. It seemed isolated, but added an unexpected note to leaving. The hotel has potential, but housekeeping and staff support need to be more consistent. For now, I’d call it a three-star stay, with room to improve.

Check your folio before leaving, since I was wrongly charged for several pantry items. Also, there’s no pool here, and photos in reviews showing one aren’t from this location. Expect a lot of noise from youth ice hockey teams, especially on holiday weekends between October and March.
